Mark Dalton

I retired after 35 years with the state of Washington Department of Social and Health Services as an office administrator and member of the DSHS Region 4 management team (Seattle/King County). Along the way I held various local, regional and statewide management positions in social services and drug abuse treatment, beginning with a year at the Lancaster County Welfare Department in Lincoln. It was a long, varied and satisfying career - many jobs, but one employer in Washington State. Now I'm free to continue my musical career. I've never been out of a band for any length of time since the first one we started in 1962: The Starfires, and I'm involved with several bands and musical projects at this point, having big fun, making money. We moved to Seattle in 1973. It's a good town. The house is paid for, we installed solar panels on the roof last year, my kids are both college graduates with no student debt, we are going to Burning Man for the fifth time this year. We are blessed with a wide circle of amazing friends of all ages, and life is good.

I loved Mr. Byorth's art classes,even though I had no discernible talent for graphic arts. He gave me 4s, but nice comments about how "attentive and hard working" I was in class! :-)

I took Mr. Rita's swim class every semester, six times in all. Still love to swim.
