Lincoln Southeast High School
Class of 1965
Welcome to the Lincoln Southeast High Class of 1965 Webpage.
NOTES FROM YOUR COMMITTEE:
2022 Reunion Cancellation (A notice was emailed to the class on 6/23/2022.)
This spring an Attendance Survey solicited input from the class about the 55+2 event scheduled for October of this year. The survey was issued on April 9 and again on May 21. A nine-week response window was provided.
Only 29 surveys were completed. While a few people were certain about their participation this year, many more were uncertain or unable to commit. Although the survey data did not give a complete picture of what to expect this fall, they did provide a basis from which your Reunion Committee could make informed decisions.
The committee had a robust discussion. It was decided that two postponements, albeit necessary, dampened enthusiasm. Plus, COVID-19 still looms with a real chance of intensifying again in the fall. And, to top it off, the cost of travel/lodging for out-of-state classmates this year is likely to be prohibitive. In the end the committee decided, with heavy hearts, to cancel the reunion for this year.
Based on enthusiastic support from most of the survey respondents, the committee committed to a 60th reunion to be held in 2025. The committee will meet twice in 2023, just to stay in touch, and start early in 2024 to outline events for a 60th in the late spring/early summer of 2025. As Committee Member Bob Danley so aptly put it, “A 60th in 2025 will be The Last Hurrah for the LSE Class of ‘65!”
Thanks to all who completed a survey. Your input was valuable.
We will keep you updated as we move toward a planning restart. We listen to your ideas, so send them to us when inspiration strikes. You can use the “Contact Us” tab on this Home Page or email us at

Your Reunion Committee
DONATIONS: More than 20 classmates have made donations to support efforts by and for our class. Because of their generosity, we have, to date, been able to make a gift to Lincoln Southeast High School (LSE) and take advantage of a special price break to extend this website at least until our 60th Reunion in 2025. Donations also help us with reunion planning needs (e.g. facility deposits). Please consider sending in a donation (large or small) to help us hold down reunion reservation fees and allow us to continue making donations to LSE whenever we have a reunion. Joyce Davidson and Sherrie Geier serve as co-treasurers for an LSE '65 account at Union Bank and Trust. Donations may be sent to:
LSE '65 Reunion Committee
5306 Tipperary Trail
Lincoln, NE 68512.
Donations may also be given with a credit card by using the link on the right-hand side of the home page. Note: When using the credit card/PayPal function, PayPal takes a processing fee cut of a little more than 8%.
WEBSITE: We now have 202 classmates signed up for the website. Please encourage any classmates to sign up if they haven't yet.
50th REUNION GROUP PICTURE (FABULOUS PRIZE): Remember that the 50th Reunion group picture is posted with a potential key at the "50 Year Picture" link. However the key has NOT been finished. We need to crowd-source this task. If anyone wants to show what they know and help create the key (or a partial key) please identify the faces on the numbered picture and send names and their corresponding number to lse65fight@gmail.com. A fabulous prize (worth less than $25) will still be given to the person who can submit the most correct names before our October 1, 2020. SEND YOUR KEY SUGGESTIONS TO lse65fight@gmail.com.
In Memory
The "In Memory" page (on the left menu) lists of all of the LSE65 classmates known to the 50 year Reunion Committee to be deceased. This page is a poignant reminder that time is short and precious. Please let us know if you have information about other classmates who have died, or about the year of death when it is missing. It would also be good to know those who have served in the military, and those we know have been killed in action. Please e-mail any edits or additions to us at lse65fight@gmail.com .
Help Find Missing Classmates
"Missing classmates" does not mean we do not have contact information, It means they are missing from the website and have not yet joined. Please try to help get everyone registered. The website will mean much more to everyone if more are participating.
Help The Site Improve
We would still love to add an assistant website administrator or two to help build the site, add interesting content, and encourage discussion etc. It is easy and there are some helpers available in Lincoln who have used this website provider for other classes. Please indicate your interest by contacting us at lse65fight@gmail.com. IT'S EASY. YOU'LL LIKE IT!
Reflections from the 50th Reunion in 2015
There are many reflections posted on the site that can be seen at the "What's New" page. Bob Danley had an especially thoughtful take on our reunion so it is copied here:
Reflections........... What a weekend!! As it was ending last night I was plopped into a chair thinking about what had just happened over the last 2 days. What an incredible group of people.. Classmates!! From every walk of life, I just marveled at what this group of people has accomplished: how many went into the service, how many went to war, the educators, instructor's of every type, college professor's, department chairs, business owners, large & small, men & women. Doctor's, Dentists, Attorney's, Accountants, Artist's, Airline Pilot's, Fighter Pilot's, Captain's of ships, Captain's of Industry.. McCormick, I think there are even 2 Realtor's? Really!! Oh & so much more... When they gave us those diploma's & sent our class out into the world, we grabbed it and ran.. We truly did not ask "what our Country could do for us" we went out and did what we could do for Country, our Family's & Ourselves.. 93% of our class went on to higher education, are you kidding me?? We as a whole are a grand accomplishment, we should be proud of ourselves. We came, we learned, we traveled the globe, we helped our fellow travelers, we have helped those in need, we have indeed made this a better place, and we have led, we are something... Thank You to all who were able to come enjoy, I hope many more continue to sign up on our website. For those unable to attend I hope you join the conversation, just as I have seen Doug & Shirley just join (we missed You both, for way too many years), and I hope to see hundreds of pictures posted to the site very soon.. Maybe we will not wait so long to do this again. I think it is time to BRING THE BAND BACK... Thanks again to everyone, it was a sensational weekend!!! Bob
