Susan (Susie) Wondra (Basler), 75, of Cape Coral, Florida, died on Saturday, July 9, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on April 18, 1947, to the late Leon and Margaret Wondra. Susie was preceded in death by her sister Lois Wondra (Basler) and her brother Leon Wondra.
Susie is survived by her three daughters Jennifer Duncan (Patrick), Jodi Smith (Jody) and Jill Frix-Sanchez (Raul). Her survivors also include her niece Angel Lillard, and her nearest and dearest friend Laura LeCocq.
Susie was blessed to be the mimi to grandchildren Brittini and Shelby Smith; Grace and Aubrey Duncan; and Ethan and Bryce Frix. She also had two great grandchildren.
Susie moved to Cape Coral in 1975. She was very active in community organizations including the Jaycees and ACT (Abuse Counseling Treatment for Women and Children.) In addition to being a realtor, she devoted her spare time to her community’s schools, the PTA and to local government elections.
It was well known that Susie opened her heart and home to anyone and everyone who needed her. She taught her friends and family that life does not move in a straight line from point A to point B. Life takes us on fascinating, winding journeys; each of which includes choices and consequences.
Susie won an enormous battle 33 years ago One Day at a Time.
A memorial gathering was held at Fuller Metz Cremation & Funeral Services, 3740 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33904 on Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
