Carol Stewart was a surgical nurse at Bryan Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Nebraska Surgical Nurses Association. Carol Stewart was an Admiral in the Nebraska Navy.

Survivors include her husband Michael Stewart, who is also a member of the LSE Class of '65; son Greg, daughter Chris Linville, and son Bill Dedick of Lincoln; her mother Ruth Hartley of Lincoln; brother Allen Hartley of Omaha; Neal Hartley of Lincoln; sister Judyth Hartley of Lincoln; and nieces and a nephew.

Services for Carol were held on Friday, January 24 at Butherus-Maser & Love Mortuary in Lincoln. Visitation at the mortuary after 5 pm on Wednesday, January 22. Memorials were suggested to the Bryan Memorial Surgery Department, in care of the Bryan Foundation, 1600 So. 48^th Street, to be dedicated for a remembrance plaque.
