In classes where students were seated alphabetically, we ended up seated close to each other. She was always friendly and a pleasure to talk with. I am sorry that she is no longer with us.

Renna always made me laugh. Heaven is lucky. It was getting too serious.

I am so sad with Renna's passing.  We have been friends since kindergarten.  Miss you girl.

Renna and I met in 2nd grade and I enjoyed her bubbly, outgoing personality. I will miss her, but know she will liven up heaven, that's for sure!

I moved across the street from Renna when I was 6 years old. She was my best friend in the neighborhood and walked together to school and I spent a lot of time playing together back and forth. I moved up the street when I was 12 but we started junior high at Southeast and remained friends through high-school. I was able to reconnect with her at our 20th reunion.

My hubby Chuck and I moved back to Lincoln in November 2019 and was so happy to reconnect with Renna again when I visited her at her assisted living complex.  I walked up to her and told her who I was and after we hugged she said where is your red hair. We chatted for nearly 2 hours. What a great time reliving being neighbors on High Street. After our visit Chuck and I went back to Yuma AZ for a few weeks. Shortly after our return covid-19 hit and I couldn't visit her again. I attended her life celebration and heard so many wonderful things said about her and her passion of education. Had a nice visit with her sister Sandy. She knew my brother and sister too and Sandy also pointed out our other neighbors who lived next door to them. Amazing how we could still remember certain things being neighbors over 60 some years ago. Renna will be missed but so happy I was able to have the little time we had after our move back.

We love being back in Lincoln and hope to reconnect with many more great friends like Renna.  Here's to Renna. Cathy Walters Peterson
