Ken Holland, 77, of Lincoln, Nebraska died Saturday June 1, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 6 at Roper and Sons Funeral Home in Lincoln. A visitation and  rosary were offered on Wednesday, June 5. Graveside military honors were provided at Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln.

Ken was born on February 26, 1947, in Lincoln to Dr. Kenneth and Naomi (Wagner) Holland, Sr. He grew up in Lincoln with his parents, brother John, and sister Jane.  After graduating in 1965 from Lincoln Southeast High School, Ken attended the University of Nebraska School of Dentistry.  He then took a commission as a dental officer in the United States Navy. Ken served his country for 18 years and reached the rank of Commander.

Ken followed in his father’s footsteps and became an orthodontist. He specialized in temporomandibular joint disorders. He practiced in Lincoln, Columbus, Norfolk, Albion and David City, Nebraska, before moving his family to Arizona. In Arizona he continued to see patients, until 2015 when he retired and moved back to Columbus, Nebraska to be closer to family and help care for his grandchildren.

Ken is survived by son Chris (Dina) Holland and their children Lilyana and Noah all of Lincoln; daughter Amanda (Brian) Eckenroth; daughter Clavel Holland-Williams and her children Malorie, Sebastian, Bailey, and Sean of Arizona and Nebraska; son William Holland of Lincoln; daughter Tamar (Justin) Brandenburgh-Noble and her children Phillip and Benjamin of Bellwood; brother: John (Carole) Holland; and sister: Jane (Bill) Hutchinson.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents: Dr. Kenneth and Naomi Holland, Sr.; daughter Jasmine Holland; grandson Michael Crooks; and granddaughter Mireyas Holland.

Ken and I were friends from Grade school. His Mother was our Cub Scout Pack Leader. I remember Ken as a smart and caring person. He surely will be missed.
