I don't how it got started, but everyone referred to Geof as "Logs", unique pseudo-name, tall, stoutly built fellow. If it wouldn't be too much to ask or indelicate, what took him?

Don Shurtleff wrote that he died suddenly of a heart attack on October 21, 2011 -- a distinction without a meaningful difference.  Geoff is a good reminder to all of that every day is a gift.

I remember Geof real well.  He was a great guy. He was quiet and understated, but a real personable guy. He was really smart, and he had a wonderful smile that hinted of the talent, awareness and ability that lay underneath the surface. You could tell even then he was going to be something special.

I am real sorry to hear about his passing.
