Let's start this out . . ..

In response to Gretchen's suggestion (on my profile) I am starting up a forum where we can all look back at our three years (was it really only three years!!) and reflect on the high points and the low points.  I am going to start it off with a low point because, well, just because it was a really low point.  My brother Bill was 5 years ahead of me at LSE and during his time there, LSE swim team began a streak of unbeaten dual meets that stretched up to our years.  LSE hadn't lost a dual meet in more than 5 years, until . . . I am not sure I can do this . . . until I got disqualified in the 100y backstroke in a dual meet with LHS and we :-( lost by 1 point.  I won't ever forget coming in the next day to black crepe paper around all our lockers.  I tell myself that swimming is a team sport, but it was an individual mistake.  I tell myself that it built my character, but I think I could have been fine without that particular character building.  I tell myself that the rest of my team was really generous and forgiving by not killing me, and that is really true.  Wow, was I sorry that it happened.

So, now that I have started this forum out on a low note, I believe it is encumbent on all of you to balance the scales and post lots of really good memories or our LSE years.  What were the highs (and the lows) of those three years for all of you?

On a positive note, we came back later that year and beat LHS at their pool in front of a packed house.  Can't remember the score, but it was not even close! And Gregg won both of his events! We went on to be State Champs our three years at LSE. One meet no big deal.

Anyone else remember "TV English" with Ms Montgomery? It was great to sit in the auditorium and watch (or sleep through) lessons on TV.
