Do you remember....?

Lincoln Southeast High School was:  a day care, a kindergarten, a junior high school and a high school?  Being from College View elementary, then changed to Calvert Elementary.  Prefabs planted in the back for high schoolers?

I lived in the College View area and Pound Junior High School was not built yet.  So the city ordinances being what they were we went to Southeast and I was there for six years.  I remember the staggered lunch hours.   Being in Mr Fredericks math class (not my high suit) and trying to listen to and understand what Mr, Fredericks was saying while below us in the student lounge you could hear "What's Your Name" by Don and Juan, "Raindrops" if my memory serves me by Gene Chandler, and so many more songs.  Fredericks, sitting on the train tracks, the end of a very genius, but tortured mind.

Do you remember drivers training?  Anyone who sat in the back quickly learned not to put their books in the back window?  Otherwise you got book head!

Pep club member, remember when, by some fluke, we beat Lincoln High in a football game out at Seacrest.   We had to go down the stairs and come around and go back up because the Lincoln High girls were after us and wanted our tams, which of course were secured to our heads with rollers and pins?  Ouch!

Gregg Wright, when I think of Southeast taking State for 9 years in a row I am so proud!
